Robert La Rock
Robert is a native of the United States, having lived in six different states, hailing mainly from Missouri, Virginia, and North Carolina, with a BBA from Kent State University in Ohio. He has traveled the world over, from Canada, Mexico, the UK, Sweden & Denmark, Indonesia, and finally Jordan, as well as many points in between.
Robert's career path has included several prestigious banks such as Dominion Bank, Bank of America, and Meritor Savings (a subsidiary of PSFS), as well as such well-known organizations as Belk Department Stores (credit and account operations), and Bridgestone/Firestone North America. Since arriving in Jordan over 16 years ago, Robert has worked as a freelance trainer and consultant with several prominent organizations such as KPMG - Sarh Group, the Toledo Hotel, Marriott International Hotels, Modern Language Center, the Judicial Institute of Jordan (where he has provided TOEFL iBT training to a partner program with Brigham Young University in America), Amideast Jordan (where he worked for 10 years as one of the primary trainers in Test Prep & EL, as well on such notable projects as “Skills for Success,” a pilot program for the EU donor group NRC), Jordan's Ministry of Finance, Harvard Business Solutions/Harvard Business Consulting, with whom he partnered his own business venture La Rock International to pilot the English language program and take the lead role on several prestigious UN/NGO projects. He has also lent his expertise and training to Human Partners for Development, as well as being one of the lead trainers in English programs for HR Pulse. Furthermore, Robert currently handles communications on an ad hoc basis for the well-known design firm Chaos & Order based out of London and Amman
For over 16 years Robert has been one of Jordan’s leading college entrance exams experts, teaching the critical tactics and strategies needed to excel on the TOEFL iBT, IELTS, SAT & SSAT, GRE, and GMAT exams. Moreover, Robert has over 25 years of experience in specialized training in Business Communications, Interpersonal Relations (soft skills), and other specialized English needs.
